Cocoa powder is beneficial for runners due to its high flavonoid content, an antioxidant that acts to help reduce inflammation and oxidative stress from intense exercise such as running. This supports recovery after a run. Additionally, flavonoids enhance blood flow, promoting circulation to muscles during intense workouts, including runs. Therefore, incorporating cocoa powder into our diets, can be beneficial for runners both during and after their runs.
