Strength is an important factor to anybody's health regardless of age, shape, or ability. Strength training helps to ensure you are strong and fit, but it can also help with bone and muscle development. It can help with your overall movement and reduce the effects of chronic diseases.

Even if you are training for a marathon or focus heavily on cardio, strength training can provide the extra layer to your fitness regime to take you to the next level.

Here is a workout we've been doing weekly at RFHQ. Enjoy!

SOLO STRENGTH SET 

While we’re stuck at home, keep yourself going with a simple strength workout - either straight after your run, or anytime at home.

Try this...

** 1 minute each of:

  •  Step ups (both sides)
  • Calf raises: double or single leg (both sides)
  • Push-ups: on the ground or while standing
  • Squats
  • Lunges (both sides)
  • Plank
  • Glute Bridge holds: Double or single leg (both sides)
  • Crunches or sit ups
