A busy mum, business owner and STILL managing to exercise EVERY day - there really are no excuses for this champion! Meet Paulene...
Tell us a bit about you.
I’m a married mum of 3, night shift nurse and business owner who in my mid 40's, already hideously time poor, and 50+kg overweight decided I’d chase a crazy new goal of trying to become a runner too - haha! 😆
It’s hard and exhausting and slow going - but also - insanely empowering, exhilarating and challenging!
It’s time with myself, working on myself and becoming the me I’ve always wanted to be brave enough to be! It’s the best decision I ever made. :) :)
What keeps you fit and active?
I began an exercise EVERY day streak on January 1st 2018 - it’s now been over 3 years since I’ve missed a day.
I run, walk, cycle, strength train, and do group classes like aqua and spin, etc.
Every day is different but it’s generally 20-30 mins minimum or up to an hour per day.
Do you have any tips to share to help with motivation and accountability?
One. Day. At. A. Time.
Don’t let the big picture overwhelm you, focus on what you can do TODAY.
Literally just move THIS day.
Then tomorrow move that day.
Rinse and Repeat ;)
It can be as easy as that.
What's your favourite RunFaster print and/or style?
I was always ONLY black. Nothing but black. Ever!
Now I love allllllll the prints - haha!
But I always choose high waisted, 3/4 or 5/8 length and always with pockets. :)
Any other stories or comments?
Runfaster changed everything about how I feel about myself while exercising. E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G
A lifetime of not fitting into clothes but ESPECIALLY not activewear. :(
And then I found Runfaster.
I’m eternally grateful for the super inclusive Runfaster sizes up to 26/3XL.
For the first time in so many many years I felt included, instead of excluded. I can’t really put into words adequately what that meant ~ THANK YOU xxx
